Turning a cinematic universe into something you can walk through
How do you translate the emotional impact of a full-blown animated world into a real-life entertainment space?
This project brought the DreamWorks universe into a physical family centre inside a mall. The goal: create a concept that feels magical, but stands up to reality.
Every element had to reflect the tone and richness of the IP, while being structurally sound and feasible for engineering.
My Role
I was asked to help develop the spatial concept for the venue, creating a strong visual foundation and artworks in line with the technical department.
From attraction layout to final artistic execution, my job was to shape an environment where guests could feel like they’d stepped into a DreamWorks story, without relying on tricks that would fall apart in the real world.
Concept artworks rooted in feasibility and fabrication logic focused on structural clarity, not just visual wow
Deep alignment with the IP’s tone, world, and audience
• Constant coordination between the multiple hands involved in a single artwork to maximise the contribution of every talent
Mentoring junior artists
Why It Mattered
Because great IPs deserve great execution.
Bringing a beloved universe to life isn’t just about visuals: it’s about respecting the world, the fans, and the practical steps needed to make it real.
